Obama Vows To Close Guantanamo, Shows He Is Still Soft On Terrorism

Barack Obama has once again shown how he does not take terrorism seriously. This comes after he has promised to shut down Guantanamo Bay after a liberal publication complained. Slate also published a sob story from one of the detainees at Guantanamo Bay to get their point across, and this apparently touched Obama on a deep personal level. After all, their is nothing he likes more than to feel sympathy for the enemy while he feels nothing but disdain for his own country and people.

I have a message for Obama and the liberal terrorist sympathizers out there. The fact is that those who want to hurt our country deserve no rights. Our Constitution was written so that we could protect our people’s rights. It was not written to grant rights to those who fire bullets past the heads of our brave men and women who fight overseas or blow up our children while they watch their dad finish a race.

The fact is, those who want to see Guantanamo Bay shut down care what the rest of the world thinks about us. I am different in that it doesn’t matter to me if the rest of the world loves us or hates us as long as they respect us. We are a nation who stands for freedom, democracy, and defending ourselves, and those who do not agree with us can go cry in a corner for all I care. Guantanamo Bay should remain open so that the evil terrorist have a not so nice place to lay their heads at night after they spent days, months, and years of their lives planning the murder of innocent Americans.

Liberals in the media cry and whine that we practiced torture at Guantanamo. I say that torture should continue to happen if it means that we will be safer when we go to bed at night. After all, those in Iraq and Afghanistan gladly torture our troops, and they never get called out. That’s why I say we should return the favor so that they know that if you mess with us, we will mess with you even worse.

The fact of the matter is, Guantanamo is a symbol of America’s tough stance on terror. By Obama trying to close it down, he is sending a message to the rest of the world that protecting our nation from terrorism is not one of his main priorities. That’s why I say we should try to keep the doors of Guantanamo Bay open so that the rest of the world knows that we will punish those who try to cause harm to our nation in any way, shape, or form.

May God Bless America,

The Generation X Conservative

  1. “I have a message for Obama and the liberal terrorist sympathizers out there. The fact is that those who want to hurt our country deserve no rights.”

Wrong. What makes (made?) America great is that she offers equal protection under the law. You can be the highest born modern-day aristocrat or the lowest born plebeian, and you stand equal before the law. Even if you conspired to murder or dismember your fellow citizens, you get your day in court. And you, sir, are willing to tear all of that up.

I don’t know whether it’s out of terrified fear of terrorism, or a misplaced sense of bravado, but you have clearly lost track of what the founders and signatories to the Constitution intended.

    You also write:

“I am different in that it doesn’t matter to me if the rest of the world loves us or hates us as long as they respect us.”

NEWSFLASH. Respect doesn’t come from fear and hatred, which is what we are formenting in much of the world at the moment through our foreign policies.

Do you actually want a perpetual, neverending war with the rest of the world? Is that your favored goal? Because if so, you are going about it the right way.
