Comment on Mark Traina and NAAWP

Hey there. I know that it’s been a while since I’ve posted here, but I’ve been busy with the goings on of life. Starting this Monday (September 16th), I’m going to try to post on here at least three times a week. I appreciate all of your comments, and I especially like the ones that further the discussion on the blog. ¬†Unfortunately, I have gotten some comments by people who may have some radical views. At first, I did not approve them, but when I set out on the journey of this blog, I decided to give a voice to everyone no matter how radical their views may be.

I am talking specifically about comments left by Mark Traina, who is the head of the NAAWP. The organization, while having some conservative ideals, is a hate group in my opinion, and it shows that we have a lot farther to go in dealing with racism in this country. You could see my apprehension in allowing his comments to be posted on my blog, especially some that include antisemitic remarks, but I ultimately made the decision to approve his comments. This is due to the fact that I know that my readers are smart and can easily fight off any incendiary statements made by Traina.

Also, I feel like we need to know that people like Traina and the NAAWP are out there so that we have a realistic view of what race relations are currently like in this nation, and we can fight harder to find equality for all. Being a Generation X Conservative is about fighting the old school notions of what it means to be a conservative, and Traina certainly shows that we have a way to go in doing this since some last generation conservatives are still around spewing hate and vitriol. If we can do this, I feel like we can go far in getting our party to thrive under a platform of tolerance and acceptance, and drown out the voices of haters like Traina and others.

May God Bless America,

The Generation X Conservative
